All field management software offers the same three building blocks: walks, problem solving, performance facilitation. The difference lies elsewhere: in the rules, the price, the openness and the honesty about what’s delivered. Here are the twelve questions to ask, and the answer that should reassure you.

Adoption

  1. How many fields are mandatory to report a gap? Just one, the title. The rest can wait.
  2. Can an operator without an email use the tool? Yes, from the shop-floor screen, with their first name.
  3. How long to set up a plant? A few days, by yourself, with no IT project.
  4. What do you see when a measurement isn’t entered? A grey cell, visible to all. Not a blank.

Product rules

  1. What happens when you change a target? The past is never rewritten.
  2. Is there a ranking or score per operator? The right answer is no. We track actions, not people.
  3. Can an action be blocked without a reason? No: the reason is the only field worth making mandatory.

Price and openness

  1. Is the price per plant or per user? Per plant, all-inclusive, new features included. A per-user price penalizes the adoption you’re after.
  2. Are there paid modules? No.
  3. Can you export your data and connect your tools? Open API, export, your tools stay in place.

Honesty

  1. What’s available today, and what’s “soon”? Ask for the written list, line by line, before the demo.
  2. Where is the data hosted, and which certifications are confirmed? Hosted in Europe. Beware of certifications cited without a date.

The five-minute demo test

Ask them to report a gap from a phone, assign it to a first name without an account, then find it on the big screen. Time it. If it takes the salesperson more than two minutes, it will take your teams ten.

Frequently asked questions

Does Daystream answer these twelve questions?

Yes, and the Features page publishes line by line what’s available and what’s soon, so no demo surprises you.

Do you need a pilot?

A pilot on one or two plants, with two or three success criteria set together and a check-in at six weeks. No more criteria than that, or none gets met.

What if we already have a tool?

Compare on facts: all-inclusive price, openness, self-service setup. And check your contract end date plant by plant.
